“Leadership in the Procurement Profession”

 

While executives may “manage” differently based on their roles, all executives in management should “lead” the in the same way. This session will address leadership principals for executives with specific focus on leadership principles necessary for procurement and contracting organizations.

 

Michael Eugene is the Chief Operations Officer for the Orange County Public Schools. In that capacity he leads seven operating departments including Procurement, Food Services, Transportation, Safety & Security, Information Technology, Warehouse, and Building Code Compliance. Prior to joining OCPS in 2009, he served as the Business Manager for the Los Angeles School District, and prior to that, served as the COO for the Cleveland Metropolitan School District. In his volunteer work, Michael serves as the co-director of the Council of Great City Schools’ “Managing for Results” program, which is establishing standards for performance measures and best practice research among the largest school districts in the country.
